Olive Ash Bowl

Olive Ash occurs only in old Ash trees, It is the centre wood or heartwood of the tree. Olive Ash wood appears to be much denser than plain white Ash.

This piece came from a storm-damaged tree in Co Waterford, it was estimated the tree was over 250 years old when it was uprooted by storm Ophelia in 2017.

We have worked on this piece slowly and carefully on the lathe to produce this beautiful handcrafted bowl.
